Iuliia Iashchenko: Between Truth Speaking and State Narratives. Soviet Ethnic Cleansing through Oral History Perspective
Dear colleagues, we invite you to the next seminar of the chair of Modern and East European History FAU where Iuliia Iashchenko, our visiting researcher will give a presentation.
The seminar will delve into ongoing PhD research concerning the representation of ethnic repressions under Stalin's regime, arguing that these actions were not merely intentional but also institutionalized, rooted in legal and ideological frameworks aimed at decreasing ethnic populations within the USSR. Drawing from statistical and legal documents, oral testimonies, and employing IT tools for analysis, the seminar aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these repressions were systematically carried out and their lasting impacts on ethnic communities.
Language: English.
For registration, please write to oeg-sekretariat@fau.de.
