Kairat Alimgazinov: "History of Kazakhstan" Portal and Archive Digitization Initiatives in the Region

We invite you to the Seminar series “Digital History in/of Central Asia”, organised the Chair of Modern and Eastern European History, Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in collaboration with the German Association for East European Studies (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde, DGO)

The fourth seminar will be held on February 22, 14:15 CEST (14:15 Berlin / 18:15 Tashkent / 19:15 Bishkek & Almaty) online in Zoom and onsite: Erlangen, Bismarckstr. 12.

Topic: History of Kazakhstan" Portal and Archive Digitization Initiatives in the region.

Invited expert: Prof. Dr. Kairat Alimgazinov, head of the Center for Scientific and Applied Projects, Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty.

The "History of Kazakhstan" portal, launched in 2013, has become the leading online resource for the history of Kazakhstan. Over the course of 10 years, the portal has been publishing academic and educational content, news, articles, interviews, and archival documents, spanning from ancient times to the present. One of the project's initiators and partners is the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which ensures the accessibility of digitized documents to researchers worldwide through the portal. The presentation will also cover other initiatives related to the digitization of the archival sector in Kazakhstan as a whole.

Приглашаем принять участие в серии семинаров ”Цифровая история (в) Центральной Азии”, организованной Кафедрой новой и Восточно-Европейской истории Университета Эрлангена – Нюрнберга в сотрудничестве с Немецкой ассоциацией Восточно-Европейских исследований (DGO).

Очередной семинар серии пройдет 22 февраля 2024 года в 14:15 CEST (18:15 Ташкент / 19:15 Бишкек и Алматы) в гибридном режиме в Эрлангене (Bismarckstr. 12) и в Zoom.

Тема: Портал «История Казахстана» и инициативы по оцифровке архивов в регионе.

Приглашенный эксперт: Кайрат Алимгазинов, доктор исторических наук, руководитель Центра научных и прикладных проектов Архива Президента Республики Казахстан, Алматы.

Запущенный в 2013 году портал "История Казахстана" стал ведущим онлайн-ресурсом по истории Казахстана. На протяжении 10 лет портал публикует научный и образовательный контент, новости, статьи, интервью и архивные документы, охватывающие период с древности до современности. Одним из инициаторов и партнеров проекта является Архив Президента Республики Казахстан, который через портал обеспечивает доступность оцифрованных документов для исследователей по всему миру. В докладе будут рассмотрены и другие инициативы по цифровизации архивной отрасли в Казахстане в целом.

Язык доклада: русский, вопросы могут задаваться на русском, английском и немецком языках.
